It's launched! This blog is meant to be a symbiosis of blog and art gallery. This site was designed as a HTML and jQuery-based, responsive one-pager with much regard to intuitive and simple user-experience.
In time, you will find various resources and content on my projects, research, photography, art, design and programming here.
I'm currently particularly interested in Smart-Home applications, Android development, Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
Hey there, here's the first wallpaper I would like to share with you. This close-up photograph of a "spring snowflake" [Leucojum vernum] was taken very recently in Munich's beautiful English Garden with my new ZEISS Touit Macro lense.
It's cut and resized to fit your respective display resolution (4:3, 16:9, 16:10, Iphone, Ipad; 17 resolutions in total).

Hallo, nice to meet you! I am Johannes.
I am a medical doctor and tech-enthusiast. Parallel to my studies, I have been working as a freelance designer and frontend-developer on various projects (among others albertZWEI media GmbH, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Neurologie, Junge Neurologen).
Ever since my school days, I've been interested in technology. Back then, I founded a web-community counting more than 20.000 members - joejoe.org - which was dedicated to wallpapers, icons and windows beta operating systems.
After graduation, I did my civil service at the Institute for Neuroimmunology (LMU), which triggered my interest in medicine. In October 2012 I started my experimental doctoral research study in the field of molecular neuroscience. Besides Neuroscience, I'm also quite interested in radiology, neurology, biochemistry and astronomy.
My favourite art movements are Romanticism, Realism, Constructivism and Postminimalism. I'm also quite interested in modern design, photography, typography and interactive computer arts. Besides drinking large quantites of green tea, I try to live healthy by exercising and meditating on a regular basis. Moreover, I try to incorporate new scientific findings into my everyday life.
I love learning new things, discovering cultures and meeting people! Next on my travel list are: Singapore, New York and Tokyo. Looking forward to it!
