In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

Aristotle (384 – 322 BC)

A picturesque rose shining brightly towards the night's dark sky. It unfolds its elegancy, beauty and architecture layer upon layer. As if it was constructed, its periphery seems to be touched by the course of time, whereas the centre appears unharmed and almost artificial to the beholder.

Vermin Death Stack

Original artwork: Vermin Death Stack (1997-98) by David Falconer (*1967)

What do you feel when you look at this photograph of Falconer's dead frozen rodents? Is it disgust or fear? Excitement or curiosity? Or did you feel sadness, shame or even guilt at first sight? Does it confront you with mortality?

This dead, frozen mass is somehow capable of releasing a force that causes inner commotion. A source of energy and it unconsciously drives the observer towards the unknown ... this is my beauty in death.

"In-vivo evidence for cytoprotective inhibition of Caspase-3 by Calbindin-D28K investigated by intermolecular Photobleaching-FRET" (*publication planned)

During my research I aquired key skills in molecular biology (Protein Engineering, Primer- and Plasmid-Design), laboratory techniques (Cell Culture, WesternBlots, Gel Electrophoresis), fluorescence imaging (FRET, Photobleaching), data analysis and usage of bio-software (ZEISS ZEN Software, Illustrator, ImageJ, SerialCloner, BioEdit)

Envision it. Reinvent it with workable tasks. Risk it. Make it real.

Ever since I was caught by London's spirit, I dedicated my time to the craft of entrepreneurship. Being a medical doctor, I'm particularly (but not exclusively) interested in eHealth and eCommerce startups. Since 07/15 I'm working on my startup-project gesundacht|8.
